Landed on Eday and walked along to Red Head. On returning to the boat we took the last of the tide down the sound and then crossed Westray Firth and headed for Rousay. Within Westray Firth is a channel called Falls of Warness through which, as its name implies, the tide runs pretty fast. This area contains the EMEC test site for tidal energy generators. Not sure I fancy sailing through there. We picked up the visitors’ mooring in Wyre Sound, Rousay. Unusually this is quite near the shore, so we went ashore and visited to 2 nearest chambered cairns (Rousay is stuffed with such remains)
