Tuesday 16 July 2013 – Stromness to Stromness

We thought this might be a suitable day to go to Scotland, so we left at 9:30 with 2 reefs in and the weather grey and damp.  At the end of the harbour we took a look at the water in the Sound of Hoy and felt the wind once out of the shelter and decided it would not be a fun experience.  So we returned to the marina and took up the same berth.  It was worth making the effort – if we had cancelled without going out we might have regretted the decision when the sun came out.  We took a walk up the hill behind Stromness and chatted with others who were also waiting for suitable weather.
