Saturday 1 June 2013 – Talmine to Stromness

Put the sail up, but motored all the way.  Approaching Orkney we had good views of the Old Man of Hoy (famous rock stack), but did not have time to go across and look more closely.

Orkney is certainly very different in scenery from NW Scotland – it is mostly very green, slightly undulating fields with lots of cattle and lots of lush grassland.

Tomorrow we will NOT motor anywhere in the boat but use the bikes to visit somewhere interesting
