Thursday 6 June 2013 – St Mary’s to Longhope

Visited the Italian Chapel, together with Clive and Sandie from “Taransay Mhor”.  The Italian Chapel was built by Italian POWs who were working on the defences of Scapa Flow during WW2.

Sailed over to Longhope, which all seemed a bit open and the visitors’ buoys are miles from the harbour!  We went into the small harbour and rafted up against a big boat from Newcastle, whose owner came from Hartlepool.  In the evening we joined them in the hotel (really just a pub) and enjoyed sitting in front of a hot coal fire.
